| Foster Farm Youth Equestrian Camp 2009 Building Today’s Riders for Tomorrow’s Leaders Foster Farm’s Youth Equestrian Camps are available for children ages five and up who really love horses and whose strong desire is to learn, to understand and to safely and fully enjoy horsemanship on working student level. Each camper will learn the responsibility of proper horse care and will gain knowledge of all types of horses. This is a working day camp and campers will have the opportunity to have hands on learning with the veterinarian and farrier. Riding and other horse related activities will fill the cooler morning hours. In the hot afternoons we will turn our focus on classroom activities, arts and crafts, stories, songs, games and farm management. Our Full Day Camp costs $450 per week and starts each morning at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. A $200 deposit is required to reserve a spot. Campers are required to bring their own lunch each day except Friday when we order pizza and a refrigerator and microwave are available. Tee Shirts and polos are also available for purchase and are $15 and $25 respectively. Safety is a priority at our farm and boots, long pants, helmets and tucked in shirts are required for all campers. If you do not have these items please ask us for where to get them. After lunch students are invited to change out of their riding clothes to keep cool. Do keep in mind, however, that no open toed shoes are allowed while at the farm. Camp will be held rain or shine. Parents and other family members are invited to our horse show that is held on Friday at 1:30 pm. At the show, campers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, compete for trophies and support fellow riders. All campers will receive a Certificate of Merit in Horsemanship. Bring your cameras as this horse show is not to be missed! Our sincere desire is to instill in our students the spirit of sportsmanship – something that will serve to build character that will last a lifetime. Through this camp we want to bring out the values of teamwork and fun; so closely associated with the affection felt for our most honorable friend, the horse.
