Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can my child begin taking lessons?
A rider can start in our lesson program at the age of five. Since most 5-8 year olds do not have the
physical strength or attention span required while riding for 30 minutes, 15 minute leadline
                          lessons are available.

I am in my fifties and have never been on a horse before.  Is it too late for me to take lessons?
Riding is an excellent sport for people of all ages! It is never too late to start riding and enjoying
the benefits of this physically challenging activity.  Additionally, every Wednesday at 10:30 am we
have our Adult Group lesson that is a great way to meet and mingle with  some of our adult riders.

I am interested in taking riding lessons, but, do you only teach English style?
While we specialize in Saddleseat, we also offer instruction in Driving and Western Pleasure.

What will I need for my first lesson?
For your first lesson, please arrive early to read and sign our Release of Liability form.  You will
need to bring with you long pants and hard soled shoes or boots with a heel - no sneakers please.

                                 What are your fees?
Our fees and offerings are based on the excellent level of care our horses and
their owners enjoy.  Please use our "Fees" link on the left to see our rates for 2011.

                           One Last Thought...

While several breeds can carry a saddleseat saddle, we use the American Saddlebred as our horse
of choice as they are most suitable for the job.  Schedule a lesson today and find out why riding and
showing an American Saddlebred is such an exciting experience.
